MXT Blood Filtration

Pollution is an ever-growing global dilemma. Oceans and landfills are filling up faster than they can be managed. Issues such as the Great Pacific Garbage Patch and the dumping of plastic waste into drinking water supplies are not being addressed with the urgency this problem requires. Recent studies have shown that Microplastics have detrimental effects on animals, oceans, and human life. Further research has shown that the total waste output is set to double in the next seven years (2031). With such consequences in mind, particularly those regarding human life, I have conducted research, quasi-experiments, and used Speculative Design to create a solution that fights these issues. Based on current trends, I have envisioned a dystopian future in which MPs have permeated our food, water, and breathing supplies and are in need of constant filtration. I believe that within this challenge lies the opportunity to chart a new course, a future where innovation is required for sustaining human health.

The MXT device can filter blood and remove microplastics while also supplying your body with the right vitamins to counteract the effects that go along with filtering your blood.
